Artistic Visionary Tom Yoo Celebrates the Continuation of CHIE’s Story with a Life-Sized LEGO Sneaker and the Fourth Installment of the Chie Film Series at ComplexCon.

[San Francisco, CA, Nov 17, 2023] – Renowned artist Tom Yoo, in collaboration with IV Gallery and MakersPlace, is set to captivate the attendees of ComplexCon with his groundbreaking creation: a 10-foot-tall LEGO sculpture of the iconic “Jordan 1” sneaker. This masterwork, alongside an exclusive digital release of the open edition of CHIE CHAPTER 4: HELLO WORLD from his celebrated film series, will be available for purchase at the ComplexCon booth and online, marking a significant moment in art and digital storytelling.

The above works will be available for purchase on November 17, 2023 at 1:00 PM EST in person at ComplexCon.

CHIE CHAPTER 4: HELLO WORLD will not be sold online until November 19, 2023 at 3 PM EST. The open edition will be available for 24 hours or until 15 minutes after 300 open editions have been minted.

“Tom Yoo’s work resonates with a cultural vibrancy that is both empowering and transformative,” said Vincent Harrison, owner of IV Gallery. “His latest sculpture is not just an artistic feat but a beacon of inspiration for communities and collectors worldwide.”

The larger-than-life LEGO “Jordan 1” is a unique collector’s item only available at the booth and through an online private sale. Additionally, a limited-edition series of life-sized Air Jordan LEGO sneakers will be offered to enthusiasts at a price point of $5000.

“Tom’s innovative blend of physical art and digital narrative is revolutionizing how we can experience raw human storytelling in creative art.” reflected Craig Palmer, CEO of MakersPlace. “The CHIE series, paired with his remarkable sculptures, offers a new paradigm for artistic expression in the digital age.”

For those who follow Yoo’s narrative journey, CHIE Chapter 4: HELLO WORLD presents our first look at Chie as an adult, where she confronts and overcomes the challenges posed by racial prejudice. This poignant chapter will be open for acquisition from November 19 to November 20, commemorating Yoo’s mission to inspire belief in the boundless realm of possibility.

“With each creation, I strive to not just captivate the imagination but also to kindle a spark of hope and resilience,” said artist Tom Yoo. “The ‘Jordan 1’ and CHIE’s latest chapter are embodiments of this vision—celebrating the power of perseverance against all odds.”
