Osinachi (born Prince Jacon Osinachi Igwe, 24 October 1991) is a self-taught digital artist, who grew up in Aba, Nigeria. Osinachi creates his work using Microsoft Word, where he utilizes the basic limited design palette of the word processing software to create narrative illustrations.

In 2005 in Aba, a city in southeastern Nigeria where he was born and raised, Jason Osinachi taught himself how to re-create the logo of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) on Microsoft Word. This was the unassuming starting point for what would become — and is still becoming — a brilliant art career.

As an aspiring writer, Osinachi haunted local cyber cafes, toiling over poems and short stories, and when boredom overwhelmed his creative process, he would start playing around with Word’s basic drawing tools. Eventually, drawing in Word became his abiding obsession, and writing took a backseat.

By the time Osinachi completed his compulsory national service in 2016, he was ready to make moves toward an art career. But, at that time, the art world had no place for a digital artist who hoped to make a living from original art.

Working as an academic librarian in 2017, Osinachi learned about NFTs and the quietly growing market for digital art. By the pandemic year of 2020, he was perfectly poised to enter the digital art market, though he didn’t expect the level of success he met.

Now, nearly 20 years later, those early “time-wasting” experiments have blossomed into a global reputation, an enviable crypto art career, and a comfortable life in his new home of Lagos.
