Bloodstrike 30th Anniversary by Rob Liefeld

Deadpool creator and Image Comics co-founder Rob Liefeld is an illustrious comic book creator, artist, and writer whose +30-year career spans work on top-tier comic franchises from DC and Marvel, including the X-Men, Captain America, The Avengers, Spiderman, X-Force, Teen Titans, and Hawkman.

His big break came in 1991 when Marvel handed him the reins of the ailing New Mutants Franchise. He created dozens of new characters, including Domino, Shatterstar, Stryfe, Wildside, and Warpath, to name just a few. But it was his creation of Deadpool, first seen in New Mutants #92, that truly reinvigorated the franchise. Along with one of Liefeld’s other popular creations, Cable, Deadpool was spun off when Liefeld created X-Force.

X-Force #1 became a runaway hit, selling over five million copies, and still stands as the number #2 highest selling comic book of all time.

In 1992, Liefeld left Marvel to create IMAGE COMICS alongside six other notable comic book creators. They quickly became the number one independent label in comic book history. Rob’s IMAGE offshoot, Extreme Studios, created many successful publications such as Avengelyne, Prophet, Supreme, Brigade, Glory, and, of course, Bloodstrike. But it was his own creation, Youngblood, that shattered all expectations and sales records with over 1 million copies sold.

Rob’s unique style resonated with comic book fans selling huge numbers. Extreme Studios was the top studio in the comics field worldwide, their family of titles second only to X-Men with a 5.78 market share according to Market Reports.

Rob returned to Marvel in 2019 with Major X, a six-part series that became one of the biggest selling comics of 2019 with multiple reprints of every issue. In 2020, Rob will release a highly anticipated G.I Joe comic from Hasbro and IDW, Snake Eyes: Deadgame.

Rob’s characters have also taken over the big screen. Deadpool was made into two major motion pictures featuring Ryan Reynolds playing the titular character. They shattered box office records making over $1.5 billion worldwide. In 2021, it was announced that Prophet would be adapted into a major motion picture directed by Sam Hargrave (Extraction) and starring Jake Gyllenhaal as the title character John Prophet. Liefeld will serve as Executive Producer.

Bloodstrike: 30th Anniversary

To celebrate the April 1992 premiere of Image Comics’, Deadpool creator and Image Comics Co-Founder Rob Liefeld is releasing Bloodstrike #1 Re-mastered for a special NFT edition to celebrate 30 years of the original comic!

This historic NFT drop features reimagined covers, including variant editions of classic Bloodstrike covers and all-new covers by Liefeld, the introduction of a new Bloodstrike operative, and a one-of-a-kind NFT auction. Four of the nine covers will be available as a random “Mystery Box” format. Buyers at the very low price of $99 will receive one of four original cover variants randomly selected. The remaining five covers will be available as open editions for individual purchases.

The first 200 buyers of one “Mystery Box” edition and the five other cover variants will receive a limited edition physical printing of the “Blood Brothers” variant cover. The winning buyer of the Bloodstrike Heroes 1/1 auction will receive the only hand-drawn original by Rob Liefeld that gives the winner Rob’s original pencil art as well as the full-colored digital NFT comic and an autographed and graded “Blood Brothers” physical variant book with a Zoom call from Rob.
