El Grand Chamaco is an illustrator, character designer, animator and more, who is known across the world for his playful take on for society’s most impactful individuals. Born in 1982, in Los Ramones, a municipality of the State of Nuevo Leon, in Mexico, he spent his childhood afternoons playing with colour pencils while he dipped dry meat with chile sauce and lemon.
Frustrated by the lack of creative enthusiasm in his hometown, at the age of 25 Grand Chamaco fully separated himself from society, moving to a remote cottage where he gave his undivided attention into honing his artistic craft. After years of solitary study, the arrival of the internet in Grand Chamaco’s changed everything. For the first time ever, the world was exposed to Chamaco’s whimsical world, filled with color and a contagious energy… And the world liked what it saw.
El Grand Chamaco’s artworks are inspired by his Mexican roots, adopting the colorful vibrant palette of the culture into his 3D graphics. After years of perfecting his style, he gained his fame as a prominent illustrator and character designer—reimagining pop culture characters with a playful and satirical approach.
