Mark McKenna – 8/31 at 3:30 PM PST

Mark McKenna is a globally acclaimed American comic artist and Inkwell Hall of Fame resident who has been creating comic art for over three decades and has been credited on over 1000 comic book related titles.

Having worked extensively for both Marvel and DC comics, McKenna’s artwork can be found within the pages of some of the worlds most influential comic books, such as X-Men, Spider Man, Batman, The Justice League, DeadPool and Star Wars. You can also find his work in Legendary Pictures’ Pacific Rim movie prequel and Dark Horse Comic’s Star Wars-The Old Republic: The Lost Suns. His artwork from an online webcomic, Star Wars: Blood of the Empire, was transformed into an 84 page paperback and served as inspiration for The Old Republic video game.

One thousand comic books and twelve hundred pages later, McKenna is propelling his classic comic art style into the future by publishing his first ever artworks on the blockchain. For his debut, McKenna will reveal three of his own works, plus a special collaboration with fellow comic legend José Delbo.

Mythology 101- Dawn of Heroes

Long before superheroes broke onto the scene, the heroes of antiquity filled readers with wonder and awe. Before there was the supervillain, monsters of a different type made you think, “would I have been able to defeat them.” Before we asked ,”who wins in a fight, Superman or the Hulk?” They may have pondered which mythic hero would come out on top in a battle. And long before comic book fandom of the modern age, reverence was paid to the gods.

Javier Arrés – 9/1 at 3:30 PM PST

Javier Arrés is a world-renowned motion / GIF artist and a 2019 London Art Biennale winner based in Motril, Spain. Arrés finds inspiration within the sweeping views from his childhood home overlooking his hometown and the beautiful architecture within it.

Arrés is known for his manically detailed illustrations of fantastical scenery highlighting cities, architecture and machines. He brings these worlds to life through what he calls “Visual Toys”. Through these Visual Toys, Arres invites the viewer into a fantastical world, inspiring the viewer to simply play with their imaginations. These “Visual Toys” are highly sought after and sell at record speeds and prices.

Arrés’ undeniably distinct artwork style sets him apart in the seemingly saturated world of digital art. It is unlike most have ever seen or imagined, and ignites our inner child, or perhaps engineer.

Rock Never Dies

A tribute to Rock and Roll.

For this unique collection Javier Arrés ventures into the world of music, focusing on rock and roll and the aesthetics, studio, technology, essence and soul of its universe of stars, bands and icons. A visual compendium and magical construction that brings back that fantasy, energy and joy of rock.

For Arrés, Rock and Roll’s story is full of purity and a love for creativity and freedom. This is especially apparent when comparing to many of the bands and stars of today across genres which are often artificially created through castings or market research.

Rock and Roll was and is much more pure and natural as illustrated by the foundational stories of many of the best known rock bands, how they met, and how they created- Everything seemed to have an energy and a freedom that many times is no longer seen today.

In Rock Never Dies, Arrés vindicates Rock and Roll demonstrating its infinite aesthetic richness, its pure soul, its history, its energy and its immortality through many unique pieces.
