Katy Arrington

Katy Arrington is a well-known illustrator and digital painter based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She has gained a massive following for her anime style girls who vary in style from cute and kawaii, to eerie and evil. Some of her most popular work seeks to bring these girls into the world of crypto, by incorporating various coins into her characters’ personas.

Arrington is inspired by the many forms of anime art from Kawaii (Japanese cuteness culture), to the beautiful and strange. Her works can be described as everything from beautiful, strange, cute, creepy, joyous and even twisted.

Arrington had an arguably tumultuous relationship with art, and even quit all together in her mid-twenties. But, lucky for us, her passion for art remained strong, and ultimately lead to her not only returning to the art world, but achieving great success within it. Today, when she is not creating, Arrington is helping share knowledge with other artists on how to make it big in the art world.

Arrington’s artwork speaks to themes of empowerment, and an unapologetic embracement of femininity. Her artwork is bright, vivid, sensual and full of life with each one containing a plethora of bold colors and undeniable personality.

Her latest series, Fruit Girls, pays homage to the power and sensuality that every woman possesses. This series is about feeling comfortable in your own skin and owning the sweet qualities that make you an individual. Each fruit is different in appearance, texture and taste yet all are equally delicious. Arrington hopes that this series will shine a light on the beauty of unfiltered femininity and encourage everyone to feel comfortable embracing their true selves.

Banana

This creation is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S. Bananas is the silliest of the bunch, and according to Arrington she is, admittedly, a bit bananas herself. But then again, who isn’t?
